How to install a wallpaper ? What's the best screen size to browse Alina's Secrets ? You should at least have a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels with true color. Why do some links open in a new window ? Links to pages within our website will always open in the same window. You can use the back button to go back to pages you have previously visited. Links to other websites always open in a new window. This means that you can return to our website at any time without closing the new page. Why are site previews 120 x 90 pixels ? Site previews are 90 pixels in height because 120 x 90 matches the screen resolution in proportions (640 x 480, 800 x 600 etc.). Afterall, most web pages are designed to fit the screen size first. In reality, we can create thumbnails of any size but 120 x 90 is logically the optimal size for previewing web sites. Any smaller or bigger will have impact on usability and download time. Web pages evaluated by Alina's Secrets will have an image created of the web page as it appears at 640 x 480 screen resolution on the average web browser. Pages that use untrusted plug-ins will possibly not have the content provided by these plug-ins displayed. How to choose a wallpaper resolution ? Your current screen resolution is : You should choose a resolution that matches the one listed above or as close to it as offered. (If you don't see a resolution your browser is not JavaScript Enabled.) For exemple if you see : 640x480 | 800x600 | 1024x768 | 1152x864 | 1280x960 | 1280x1024 | 1600x1200 - 640x480 to 800x600 : the wallpaper will be reduced from the original size to the selected resolution. - 1024x768 : original size of the wallpaper. - 1152x864 to 1600x1200 : the wallpaper will be enlarged from the original size to the selected resolution. Why are the wallpapers so small ? Well they're not really. We use an HTML trick so they fit normally on the page but are in fact at a higher resolution and look great when installed as backgrounds. How to install a wallpaper ? - Windows Instructions : When the image has finished loading, put the cursor on top of the image, hold down the right mouse button and select "set as wallpaper." or "set as background." on newer versions of Windows. - Macintosh Instructions : When the image has finished loading, hold down the mouse button until a pop-up menu appears allowing you to "download image to disk." When the image is saved, you will use the Appearance Control Panel to set it as a desktop picture. - *nix Instructions : If you're using *nix as your OS of choice you, more than likely, have the brains to figure it out yourself.
